McIntosh Laboratory's enduring mission is the essence that sets them apart. Since 1949 the visionary Frank McIntosh established McIntosh Laboratory's unwavering dedication to sound reproduction. McIntosh key technological features

      - The McIntosh Output Autoformer™ is a special transformer that is designed and manufactured in-house by McIntosh. This allows any speaker type to be used with a McIntosh amplifier and have all of the power that the amp is designed to deliver. All other amplifier designs will not have even power with differing speaker designs. McIntosh amplifiers with the output Autoformer will deliver ‘All the Power You Pay For’ regardless of speaker type chosen.

     - Quad Differential is the most sophisticated McIntosh amplifier design that allows the impossible combination of the most powerful amplifiers with the very lowest distortion and background noise. Many would say this is the impossible combination: highest power with lowest noise but Quad Balanced make the impossible possible.

      - Electromagnetic switching is used in McIntosh preamplifiers and integrated amplifiers to switch the variety of source components connected. Rather than the common mechanical switches that will deteriorate with wear, electromagnetic switches are high tech switching nodes that allow very long, trouble free operation.

      - Hybrid Drive™ is a McIntosh technology that answers a question the world's most discerning music listeners have been asking for over 50 years: How can I enjoy the rich sound of vacuum tubes and the power of solid state circuits in a single, easy to use, and best-of-class product? With McIntosh decades of engineering expertise in both circuit types, McIntosh have the experience needed to seamlessly combine both vacuum tube and solid state into the products via Hybrid Drive design that redefines sound and delivers the best of both worlds. No longer are you forced to choose between these two seemingly polar opposite technologies. With Hybrid Drive from McIntosh, the highest level of sound reproduction is now available to bring your audio dreams to life. Hybrid Drive can be found in select Power Amplifiers, Integrated Amplifiers, Preamplifiers, and CD Players.
