Meet the pinnacle of Skyanalog craftsmanship — the Reference MC cartridge. For years, Skyanalog has been synonymous with high-end moving-coil designs, but the Reference stands in a class of its own, representing the absolute summit of their expertise.
To achieve this extraordinary level of performance, master designer Jack Leung engineered a completely new MC cartridge from the ground up, using an exceptionally precise manufacturing process. Every detail, from the redesigned body to the smallest internal component, was perfected through extensive testing to deliver an acoustically optimized structure with minimal unwanted resonance.
Its symmetrical body design ensures effortless installation and precise alignment, making setup as refined as the sound it produces.
At its heart is an all-new generator system, meticulously crafted to deliver superior interference suppression and ultra-accurate signal reproduction. Precision-machined magnetic circuit components are individually selected and pre-assembled for flawless performance.
The advanced micro-ridge stylus traces each record groove with surgical precision, revealing every nuance in the music — especially in the high frequencies — with astonishing clarity and minimal distortion.
Paired with a lightweight yet incredibly rigid sapphire cantilever, the Reference offers one of the most sophisticated and responsive tracking systems available today. This is more than a cartridge — it’s an invitation to experience your music with breathtaking realism.
The essence of MC cartridges is the suspension system, which is fundamentally determined by the interaction between the Spring (Piano Wire) and the Rubber Ring.In addition, the art of damping, is essentially “matching” – ensuring that every component works in harmony.
Consequently, meticulous factory-set to a specification is required to guarantee a balanced music reproduction, aligning with our commitment to audio fidelity. We proudly named our significant suspension system breakthrough Yan(“炎”). Given its year of birth, 2024, a year symbolized by ‘Fire'(“火”) in the Chinese tradition.
