DeVore Orangutan O/Reference 3

The O/Reference system scaled down to three pieces, utilizing the same main speakers and a single Bassmachine. While there are clear benefits to using two Bassmachines as in the O/Reference system, including ambience retrieval, low bass dynamic impact, and easier room response optimization, there is no question that the lowest octave has the narrowest cost/performance benefit: it is very expensive to reproduce the bottom octave with the highest fidelity. By using a single Bassmachine and summing the left and right information of the lowest octave to mono, significant cost savings are gained in a system that still achieves a very high measure of the O/Reference performance.
